Telephone Services

Eligible Telecommunications Carriers (ETCs) are required by FCC fules to advertise the availability of services supported by federal universal service support mechanisms and the associated charges for these services. ^[1]

Supported services are identified in FCC rules^[2] as the following:

Voice grade access to the public switched network;
Local usage;
Dual-tone mutli-frequency signaling or its functional equivalent;
Single-party service or its functional equivalent;
Access to emergency services;
Access to operator services;
Access to interexchange services;
Access to directory assistance; and
Toll limitation for qualifying low-income customers.
